Here's another great nature idea that came out of my daughter's Japanese elementary school textbook. You can make an easy cup and ball game with a pine cone, a cup, and some string.
Materials:

How to Play:
Hold the cup and swing the pine cone up and try to catch it in the cup.
Materials:
- paper cup
- pine cone
- yarn or string
- a sharp pencil or push pin
Directions:
- Take a length of yarn and tie it around the center of a pine cone.
- Take a sharp pencil or push pin and make a hole one the side of the paper cup near the top.
- Tie the other end of the yarn through the hole in the cup. If desired, decorate the cup. To substitute for a paper cup, use the bottom third of a milk carton.
