This is a cool pirate craft idea made from a hand print.

Materials:

•  black, red, and peach(skin-toned) paint
• 3 paint brushes
• construction paper
• google eye
• scrap white paper
• black marker
• skull and crossbones cut out from a coloring page
• glue

Directions:

1. Paint the thumb and base of the palm red. Paint the middle of the palm peach. Paint the top of the palm and fingers black.
2. Press hand onto construction paper. Count to 10 and lift hand off. Allow to dry.
3. Glue on one google eye.
4. Draw stripes on the bandanna and an eye patch with black marker.
5. Cut out a little white mouth. Add lines for teeth and glue on.
6. Glue on a skull and crossbones.

Pirate Paper Plate Craft

Here's a simple and fun Pirate face craft made from a paper plate.

Materials:

• 2 paper plates
• skin toned paint and paintbrushes
• 12x12 inch bandana fabric
• scissors
• glue
• google eye
• black construction paper
• black marker
• hole punch
• metal binder ring

Directions:

1. Paint the bottom of your paper plate skin toned and allow to dry.
2. Take another paper plate and trace the circle onto your fabric.
3. Cut out the fabric circle, then in half again. Fold up about 3/4 an inch from the bottom and cut off the strip. Now your fabric s a little less than a half circle.
4. Trace a circle onto black construction paper and cut out. fold a little bit and cut off. The eye patch is a little bigger than a half circle.
5. Glue the bandana fabric to the top of your painted paper plate.
6. Glue a google eye on one side.
7. Glue the eye patch on the other.
8. Use a black marker to draw the eye patch band and a smile. Add a beard if you like.
9. Punch a hole on one side and insert a metal binder ring for an earing. Arrr!

Pirate Hat Printable Craft

Here's a great looking printable pirate hat and eye patch that you can assemble at home. Perfect for a Halloween costume or anytime.

Materials:

• pirate hat template
• card stock
• scissors
• tape
• rubber bands and toothpicks(optional)

Directions:

1. Follow the link below and print out the pirate hat template on card stock or regular paper and glue onto thicker paper. Cut out.
2. Cut out the long black strips(template). Tape to the back of the hat on either side to make the head band. Tape at the back to fit your child's head.
3. Alternatively, Cut slits on the white dotted lines on either side of the hat. Insert a rubber band through the slit. Break a toothpick in half and put into the loop of the rubber band. Secure with tape. Black electrical tape would be good. Do the same on the other side. Tie the rubber bands together in the back to make the head band. You may need to tie together with one or more rubber bands depending o the length.

For the eye patch, cut out and cut slits on the dotted lines. Insert and tie a ribbon around the head to wear.

Pirate Sword Cardboard Craft

Here's a simple, pirate sword craft made from cardboard and aluminum foil. Great for a Halloween party costume or prop for your play. It's easy to make and so much more satisfying than a store bought sword.

Materials:

• cardboard
• pencil
• strong scissors or knife
• paint (optional)
• glitter
• glue

Directions:

1. Draw your sword with handle on a large piece of cardboard and cut out. There are 2 example swords pictured. If there is a label, you might want to tear that off at least the handle part if you plan to paint.
2. Paint the handle on both sides. Red, brown, or gold are good choices. Allow to dry.
3. Apply a little bit of glue to the blade and wrap with a large piece of aluminum foil. Actually, you don't need glue, but it will make the foil more secure.
4. Add a few dabs of glue onto the handle and sprinkle on glitter to simulate gold or jewels. Allow to dry.
5. Don't forget to make a pirate hat to go along with your sword. Maybe an eye patch, too.
