Valentine's Day Bookmark Craft

Here's a simple and useful Valentine's Day craft gift that is sure to please any parent and be used for a long time.

Materials:

  • colorful construction paper, pink, orange, etc.
  • old magazines with lots of flower pictures
  • heart craft punch of different sizes
  • scissors
  • glue
  • regular hole punch
  • short red or pink ribbon

Directions:

  1. Cut a rectangle from construction paper about 6 inches long and 2 inches wide. I recommend different colors for girls and boys.
  2. Beforehand, punch or cut out many hearts from flower pictures in old magazines or colorful paper
  3. On one side of the rectangle, print or write the message, "Happy Valentin's Day", or "Be my Valentine". You could make it from a template of hollow letters and kids can color or trace the words. For older kids, they can write it by themselves.
  4. On the opposite side of the rectangle, glue on lots of colorful hearts, spangles, or other decorations.
  5. Punch a hole at the top and tie on a ribbon. Don't forget to fold the ribbon lengthwise and cut at an angle to make a bevelled "V" tip.
  6. Before putting the ribbon, you can laminate the bookmark if desired for durability. (optional)
