Spring Bird's Nest Paper Plate Craft

This is a great spring craft with lots of variations. Use a paper plate as a frame and felt pieces to make a bird's nest collage. You could even use real grass for the nest.

Materials:

  • paper plate
  • felt in light blue, orange, brown and green
  • Spanish moss or it's equivalent from a craft store
  • scissors
  • glue
Crafty Crow

Directions:

  1. Cut out 6 felt eggs and glue them on the plate in a nest shape.
  2. Glue Spanish moss around the eggs for the nest.
  3. Use the pattern and cut out the felt pieces for the bird and branches.
  4. Glue all the pieces on.

Variations:

  1. You could paint your paper plate blue beforehand for the sky.
  2. Change your bird's color.
  3. Use construction paper instead of felt.
  4. Use real grass instead of Spanish moss.
  5. How about a baby bird? Let your imagination take flight.
