Totem Pole Craft for Kids

Here's a great looking totem pole craft for a unit on Native Americans.

Materials:
  • white paper (or paper towel roll)
  • brown paint
  • totem pole templates from coloring page
  • crayons
  • scissors

Directions:

  1. Print out a drawing of totem poles from a coloring page. You can find a good one through the link below.
  2. Color and cut out the totem animals.
  3. Paint a sheet of thick paper brown. Conversely, you could use a paper towel roll or toilet paper roll.
  4. Glue the totem animals down the middle of the brown paper.
  5. Roll the paper into a tube and glue or staple in place.
  6. Add wings to the back.
