Hungry Caterpillar Craft

This is a simple and cute craft to do after reading "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"  by Eric Carle. It's great for even the youngest students.

Materials:

  • Light green, dark green, and red construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue
  • white paper
  • crayons

Directions:

  1. Beforehand, cut small circles from construction paper. Each student needs 3 light green, 3 dark green, and 1 red circle. Older students can cut them out for themselves.
  2. Read the story, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"  by Eric Carle. Talk about the look of the caterpillar.
  3. Glue the green circles on the white paper alternatively. Glue on the red circle for the head.
  4. Draw a face on the head.
