Paper Plate Color Mixing Snail Craft

This is a paper plate color mixing snail craft. The main purpose is to teach mixing colors and then turn it into a snail. Also fun for a bugs lesson.

Materials:

  • paper plate
  • red, blue, and yellow primary colors finger paint
  • scissors
  • tape
  • marker
  • google eyes(optional)
  • pipe cleaner

Directions:

  1. For each child put a dab of 2 primary colors on the paper plate to mix; yellow and blue make green, yellow and red make orange, red and blue make purple. Let each child decide.
  2. Mix colors with their fingers, fun! Allow to dry.
  3. Take scissors and starting from the edge, cut the plate into a spiral.
  4. Add eyes and mouth with markers or older kids can put google eyes.
  5. Curl the ends of a pipe cleaner and tape to the head.
