Thanksgiving Day Toilet Paper Roll Dolls

Here are some great looking Thanksgiving Day Toilet Paper roll dolls. This craft is a fun way to teach about American history and also use recycled materials.

Materials:

  • toilet paper rolls
  • various colored construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue

Directions:

Pilgrims:

  1. Trace the end of the toilet roll on black paper. Trace a slightly wider circle around that. Cut out both. This will be the Pilgrim hat rim and top.
  2. Wrap the toilet roll in black paper, glue in place and push the excess down inside.
  3. Color a piece of paper with peach marker and cut out a small rectangle for the face.
  4. Glue the face on and draw the details with a black marker.
  5. Roll and piece of yellow paper around the roll for size. Cut out and cut little slits for hair.
  6. Glue the hair on your roll.
  7. Cut out the front of the shirt and glue on.
  8. Put on the hat rim and tape the circle on top.
  9. Cut a thin strip for the hat brim with a buckle and glue on.
  10. For a girl Pilgrim, make a little bonnet hat from white paper. A small half cone shape with a fold.
Indians:

  2. Color and cut out a rectangle for the face and glue on.
