To make a much simpler version of this craft, omit the aluminum can and tea lite and glue on strips of red and orange tissue paper for flames.

Materials:
- rocket wings template including planets in the background
- empty and washed plastic drink bottle(Gatorade)
- silver card stock
- scissors
- bottom cut from an aluminum can
- aluminum tea lite
- battery powered tea lite
- hot glue gun
- plastic toy alien
Directions:
- Follow the link below and print out the wing templates or draw your own.
- Cut the wings from silver card stock and hot glue to the plastic bottle.
- Cu the bottom off an aluminum can as shown on the website instructions with strong scissors or a knife.
- Glue the can bottom to the bottom of the plastic bottle.
- Glue the battery powered tea lite into the can bottom for the flames.
- Insert a little alien in your bottle and blast off.

ReplyDeleteNow my bottles at home will not directly go the the trash can. I can creatively make cute rockets out of them. My grandson will be glad for sure!
