Paper Butterfly/Fairy Angel Craft

Here's a great looking paper angel/fairy craft from Japan.

Materials:

• 4 big, yellow, paper circles
• small paper circle for a head
• small 1/3 circle for a hat
• long oval body
• pipe cleaner
• scissors
• glue

Directions:

1. Accordion fold the 4 big circles and glue them together to make the wings.
2. Glue on the body and head with hat.
3. Add pipe cleaner antennae.

Here's another great craft idea from Japan. This butterfly packing peanuts craft is just one idea by using colorful packing peanuts sold in craft stores. Just wet the ends and they stick together like blocks. Really let your kids creativity go.

Summer Tree Fingerpainting Bubble Wrap Craft

This is a wonderful Summer tree fingerpainting craft. It's one of a set of 4, one for each season. It uses one of my favorite techniques, using bubble wrap to paint the leaves.

Materials:

white card stock or thick paper

paints

paint brushes

brown construction paper

pencil

scissors

glue

bubble wrap

Directions:

1. Beforehand, trace an cut out a simple tree shape. If you plan to make 4 of these crafts, make 4 trees with the same template. Or trace a hand print for the tree.
2. Use brushes or fingers to paint on a blue sky and green grass. Use a little white to make the colors brighter and give the illusion of clouds. Allow to dry.
3. Glue the tree into your summer scene.
4. Cut a piece of bubble wrap, about the same size as the top of the tree.
5. Paint the bubble wrap green.
6. Press onto the tree to make the leaves.
7. Use finger and thumb prints to make butterflies and flowers.
8. After dry, use a thin brush or toothpick to add the flower stems and the butterfly antennae.

Butterfly Toilet Paper Roll Rings Craft

This is a really simple butterfly craft made from rings cut from a toilet paper roll.

Materials:

• toilet paper roll
• strong scissors
• glue

Directions:

1. Pinch a toilet paper roll and cut into several thin rings.
2. Glue 5 rings together as shown to make the butterfly body and wings.
3. Cut one more ring in half, curl the edges, and glue to the top for antennae.

Use toilet paper rings for other things like flowers.

Easy Butterfly Hand Print Craft

This is another great butterfly craft made from hand prints. No cutting necessary.

Materials:

• white paper
• paints

Directions:

1. Press one hand into one color and make 2 or 3 hand prints one under the other.
2. Press the other hand in a different color and make matching hand prints on the other side to make the wings.
3. Use black paint and a brush or fingers to make the body in the middle with antennae.
4. Draw details of a face at the same time, or wait until dry and use a white to draw a face.

Spring Butterfly Handprint Craft

Here's a great and simple butterfly hand print craft idea from the blog with the best title.

Materials:

• black and yellow construction paper(or some other color)
• paint
• scissors
• glue
• pipe cleaners
• google eyes

Directions:

1. Make 4 hand prints on colored paper with 2 different colored paint. Allow to dry and cut out.
2. Cut a simple butterfly body shape from black paper.
3. Bend and twist a pipe cleaner into antennae and tape or glue to the back of the head.
4. Glue the hand print iwngs to the back of the butterfly.
5. Glue google eyes on the front.
