Whale Paper Plate Craft

This is a great looking whale paper plate craft that is simple and easy to make.

Materials:

  • paper plate
  • light blue paint
  • light blue construction paper or craft foam
  • scissors
  • glue
  • large google eye(or make one from paper or foam)
  • pen
  • blue cellophane tape(optional)

Directions:

  1. Paint a paper plate light blue and allow to dry.
  2. Cut a large whale's tail(fluke) and flipper from light blue construction paper or craft foam. Draw details if you like.
  3. Glue the tail on the back of the paper plate, and the flipper on the front.
  4. Glue on a large google eye or make one from paper or foam.
  5. Draw a mouth with a pen or marker. To make an open mouth, draw a kind of "V" shape and fill inside with alternating black and white stripes for baleen. You can use white paint or white out.
  6. Cut a short length of blue cellophane tape. Make short cuts along one side, roll up and glue or tape to the top of the whale for a spout.(optional)
